Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

Yes. I offer both in-person sessions at my office and virtual sessions via secure Zoom. We can discuss which format feels most comfortable and convenient for you during your initial consultation.

How long are therapy sessions?

  • Intake sessions (the first two sessions) are each 60 minutes.

  • Individual therapy sessions are 45–50 minutes.

  • DBT Skills Groups and other group therapy sessions are 90 minutes.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance companies directly. However, I can provide you with a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

If you're considering using out-of-network benefits, it can be helpful to ask your insurance company the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • What is my deductible for out-of-network services, and has it been met?

  • What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed?

  • Are there limits on the number of sessions covered per year?

  • Is pre-authorization required?

When speaking with your insurance company, you may want to reference these service codes:

  • 90791 (Intake session)

  • 90834 (Individual therapy, 45 minutes)

  • 90853 (Group therapy)

I'm happy to help guide you through this process if needed.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, credit/debit card, Zelle, and Venmo for payment. Payment is typically collected at the time of service.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to the full session fee.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected costs of therapy services. You will receive a fee agreement detailing the costs for different types of services prior to our initial session so you can make informed decisions about your care. Please feel free to ask if you would like additional clarification about costs at any time.

What if I'm not sure which type of therapy I need?

That's completely okay—and very common. During the intake process, we’ll work together to assess your needs, goals, and challenges. Based on that assessment, I’ll recommend an individualized treatment approach, whether that's CBT, DBT, relapse prevention, general psychotherapy, or a combination.

How long does therapy typically last?

Therapy length depends on your individual goals and needs.

  • CBT is often offered with an initial time frame of approximately 6 months, although some clients continue longer if needed.

  • DBT typically takes 8–16 months, depending on whether clients complete one or two full cycles of the skills modules. Some clients continue beyond these timelines for additional support, skill refinement, or deeper personal work.

We'll revisit your goals periodically to make sure therapy continues to feel aligned and useful for you.

What if I need a different type of support than what you offer?

If at any point it seems that your needs would be better met by a different provider or a different type of support, I’m happy to provide appropriate referrals to trusted colleagues and resources. My goal is to make sure you get the care that feels right for you, even if that means connecting you elsewhere.
